Legal activism and impact litigation have always been critical components of efforts at societal change. It can range from class actions to the claims of individuals, the outcomes of which can have a far-reaching significance beyond the litigants. It is a powerful and potent tool in shaping public policy and social values.

In the current environment, what do women in the legal profession and their allies need to know about how impact litigation has been used in the past and how it might be used going forward to affect women’s rights?
